A Persuasion Technique for Good
Hi, it's Yeliz!
Let's see if you guessed correctly. The end result of the experiment I mentioned at Part 1 of 2 was Consistency.
And when I leveraged that consistency, I was able to get more support from these leaders and managers than I ever had up until that point. Here’s why.
Because by asking the expertise of these individuals to read and review public health awareness flyers, I made them walk first small steps which transformed their self-image.
After giving their initial support, what had changed in these people was their self-image. They had begun to see themselves as civic minded citizens who were willing to take action to promote public health in their community. They had also demonstrated they were willing to spend 20 minutes of their own time to review these flyers.
Afterwards, agreeing to come and spend one week onsite to coach and support a non-profit organisation was behaving consistently with this new view of themselves.
Suddenly even though they had one week less vacation in that year, that’s not how they perceived this. They rather focused on their self-image which they enjoyed and which significantly helped others in the process. Makes sense?
For you we then layered this and many other leadership foundations and techniques on one of our worldwide and lifetime valid online MBA degrees at International MBA Institute™.
